A 29-year veteran of Baltimore City government, Vanessa’s expertise in media management, public relations, special events and crisis management has been tested time and again. She is a former head of communications for the departments of Transportation and Public Works. She retired from City government in 2008 after more than a decade as director of Baltimore City Schools’ public relations department. She founded the Pyatt Group in 2013 after five successful years as an independent contractor.
Vanessa is known for insisting on a high degree of professionalism as reflected in her role as Director of Public Relations for the Baltimore City departments of Transportation, Public Works, and Education, as well as chief spokesperson responsible for articulating the respective departments’ progress to constituents during weather-related emergencies, roadway improvements, utility enhancements and inconveniences, and emerging issues.
A third generation preacher, Vanessa was licensed in May 2016. She currently serves in ministry under the leadership of Pastor Harold A. Carter Jr. at New Shiloh Baptist Church. She currently serves as vice president of the Board of Directors for the New Shiloh Community Development Corporation.
Ron's marketing communications career in the energy and automotive sectors has delivered impactful brand management, corporate image and reputation enhancement for a diverse clientele. He executes end-to-end communications strategies and thought leadership for sales, marketing, corporate citizenship, public policy, issues management and community/cultural outreach. A respected advisor, Ron will establish and steer results-measurement initiatives to quantify and ensure attainment of clients' communication goals.
James T. Pyatt has advanced program compliance initiatives in City and State government for three decades. Mr. Pyatt has facilitated over 200 EEO/Sexual Harassment workshops for managers and supervisors throughout City and State government. As compliance administrator with the City of Baltimore he spent 25 years investigating EEO and Sexual Harassment complaints on behalf of the departments of Transportation, Public Works, Planning, and the Mayor’s Office of the Attorney General. The Baltimore Civil Rights Commission, Maryland Civil Rights Commission and the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission concurred with nearly 100% of the formal findings submitted by Mr. Pyatt, underscoring the comprehensive and thorough nature of his investigative expertise.
A Baltimore native, Mr. Pyatt is a graduate of Morgan State University and was certified as Master Compliance (MC) Administrator with the American Contract Compliance Association in 1997. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and mentors youth and young adults as a certified track and field coach and official with USATF.
